In most instances, anniversaries are brought in with celebrations involving cakes, presents and walks down memory lane. Mopar, however, commemorates its milestones a bit differently. For decades the aftermarket arm of Chrysler has been churning out souped-up variants of Dodge vehicles. Now, in order to celebrate its 75th anniversary, Mopar (Motor Parts) will pump out a 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute.
Revealed to the public at this month's Chicago Auto Show, the Dodge sports car's ruby red and sleek black exterior sparkled in performance-lovers' eyes. Starting with the Stage 1 Appearance Package, Mopar fitted the Dart GTS 210 Tribute with matte-black trimmings including a lower chin and rear spoiler, side sills and rear-diffuser panel. Unlike its production-model 2013 Dodge Dart sibling, the GTS 210 Tribute wears a more refined interior with red Katzkin leather seats fronts, door panels, center armrest and map-pocket inserts. Of course, those who opt for the Mopar package will also find a healthy serving of black accents dappled across the instrument cluster, seat stitching and steering wheel.
Now, most enthusiasts could easily infer that "GTS" pays homage to the Dodge GTS of the 1960's. As for the "210"? Yep. You guessed it. Mopar has ramped up the original Dart 184 to a total of 210 ponies. The added punch of power comes in tandem with improved cold-air intake, a cat-back exhaust and a remapped ECU under the Stage 2 Performance Kit.
All in all, we'd say the Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute does more than simply honor 75 years of Mopar, it represents a commitment to excellence found in every new Dodge vehicle. Unfortunately, the aftermarket package won't be available at Fairfield Auto Group, 5071 Lycoming Mall Drive Montoursville, PA 17754.
